Yes, God consciousness means to control the mind by using it to keep all of our senses always engaged in God's service. And yes, taking a firm decision requires a sense of identity. When our false ego is abandoned and when we fully revive our true ego that I am the eternal servant of God, then it is fact the the Supreme Lord will appear before us.That is only possible for a realized soul. We can continue the attempts and remember God at all times,slowly forget the body and attain true happiness. Then,even in disease too,one may be able to remember God.

I experienced something very recently.I try to think of God always.But recently in mid -May, I fell terribly ill.My thoughts could not go even to God nor tears appeared. Now in July, I have almost recovered. Now I can think like before always of God.I asked a realized soul on this matter.He opined that it is true that under great pain and stress normal beings fail to think of God. I just want to tell my friend Uma that I feel that I have to progress much.God is everything and we are nothing.

This material world is not a fully blissful place because here we have to always alternate between suffering and happiness. We cannot just enjoy happiness. We must suffer misery also. And even the happiness we experience here is not pure happiness because it is always mixed consciously or unconsciously with the anxiety of knowing that it will end at any time, that it will not last. It is better that we apply our energies for realizing and reviving our original all-blissful, all-knowing eternal natures. This will qualify us for eternal residence in the unlimitedly sublime anxiety-free spiritual sky.
