During this period I had the good fortune to visit the head master's room (the illustrious Mr. Kuttan Pillai Sir (aka Kaduva Kuttan Pillai) and know the taste of his cane for breaking the assembly line. He happened to be a friend of my father, but that did not affect his sense of justice and discipline. This happened when i was 8 yrs old, studying in 3rd std. English medium Upper Primary class. Never forgot the lesson learned that day. Never questioned discipline and the chain of command since.
