    This gopuram is the only one of its kind in the whole of Kerala, built on Tamil Nadu temple style. Those who visit TVM must visit Thiruvattar, where Sri Padmanabha Swamy is lying with the head on the right side. That temple also is similar to Padmanabha Swamy temple in all respects, except that the scale is small. Thiruvattaru was the capital of the Travancore Maharajas before they shifted to TVM. One will recall Agra fort and Delhi Red Fort when one visits these two places....both are modelled on the same pattern.
